Ukraine ITC selects Huawei to undertake its CDMA2000 telecommunication
network
After Ukraine CST selected Huawei to undertake the construction of
its CDMA 2000 telecommunication network last year, recently, the news
from Ukraine capital Kiev says that another Ukrainian operator ITC (International
Telecommunication Company) announces to select Huawei as its strategic
partner, and signs the contract for the construction of a 800 MHz CDMA
2000 network.
Ukraine has a population of more than 50 million, but its mobile reachable
rate is only 8%. There is a huge potential for mobile market. In May,
ITC invited bidding for its CDMA 2000 project. After ITC values the product
performance, technology strength, service provision and capability of
each manufacturer, it decided to sign the CDMA 2000 commercial contract
with Huawei, and let Huawei undertake the CDMA 2000 networks in Kiev and
its surrounding districts. After the network finished, it can provide
high-quality voice service, hi-speed data service and other value added
service, such as payment in advance, wireless public phone and short message.

The Number of Mobile Short Messages reaches 100 billion
in a half year with an increase rate of 71% than the same period of last
year
The latest statistics from the Ministry of Information
shows that in the first half year, the volume of mobile short message
has accumulated to 99.63 billion with an increase of 71% than that of
last year. This number is very close to 100 billion, and it shows the
huge potential of mobile telecommunication valued added market.
By the end of this June, the national revenue from communication is
281.59 billion with an increase of 13% than that of last year. The revenue
from telecommunication is 253.61 billion, with an increase of 13.8％, and
the revenue from post service is 27.98billion with an increase of 5.9%.
In the first half year, the new telephone user has reached 68071000.
The increased 32741000 fixed phone users makes the total fixed phone users
reached 295.488 million, and the increased 35330000 mobile users makes
the total number reached 305.283 million. The access users of broadband
have reached 17.731, with an increase of 6.583 million than last year.
The popularity rate of fixed phone and mobile both have reached 23.7%.
