12319 of Huaibei Telecommunication put into operation

　　Recently, the service line 12319 based on system No.10000 of Huaibei Telecommunication was put into use in the province. 12319 is a channel established by the national construction system to provide public services for the whole society. The global market share of IP Network Video services will reach 4.6 billion USD in 2008

　　According to the latest research report of In-Stat/MDR, the network-based video services will develop further in terms of service content and terminal equipment (such as Internet hotspot, wireless service, handset and portable media center). It is anticipated that the global market share of IP network video services will account for 4.6 billion USD in the year 2008.

Sprint signed contract with Mediacom for providing VoIP services

　　Sprint and Mediacom announced on Wednesday that Sprint would provide VoIP services to the 2.7 million home users of Mediacom.
Mediacom, located in New York is the 8th biggest cable TV provider of the country. It says that it plans to provide such a service to the users in 23 states at the beginning of the next year.

　　This is the 3rd contract as signed by Sprint in the last 8 months to provide VoIP techniques to cable TV.

　　At the beginning of this month, Sprint said that it was cooperating with USA Companies in Nebraska State to provide VoIP services to the 63000 users of the company. In November of last year, the company agreed to provide VoIP services to the 11 million users of Time Warner Cable.

Alcatel signs the 500,000 lines NGN contract with Jiangsu CNC

　　Alcatel announced that it has won the NGN contract (500,000 lines) through Alcatel Shanghai Bell. It is the biggest NGN network of China Netcom. The whole project will be completed by August, 2004 when Jiangsu CNC can provide various high-quality telecommunication services to the customers, such as long-distance VoIP, multi-media meeting, VPN and follow-me service. The follow-me service can be provided through various kinds of telephone terminals. Michel Rahier, COO of Fixed Service of Alcatel, says that it is a big victory for Alcatel , which will greatly consolidate the leading position of Alcatel on the NGN market of China.
