Charter cooperating with Accenture to enhance the development of telephone services

  Charter Communications Inc. (CHTR) announces that it has reached an agreement with Sprint Corp (FON), Level 3 Communications Inc (LVLT) and Accenture Ltd (ACN) to enhance the development of telephone services. It shows that the competition between the wire network companies and telephone companies will be upgraded again.

  According to the agreement, Level 3 Communications Inc.(LVLT) and Sprint Corp (FON) will connect the wire network of Charter with the long-distance/local telephone network on the market occupied by Charter Communications, while Accenture Ltd (ACN) will provide some back-office services.

  Charter is the third largest wire network company in America. It has wire networks in 37 states, covering as many as 1,2 million families, among which 250,000 families can enjoy the telephone services provided by the company. It is anticipated that after the signing of the above agreement, the users of the service will increased to about one million by the year 2004.

  The telephone services provided by Charter will be based on VOIP, a new Internet technique.

Suntek Technology: gaining the networking licenses

  Recently, Suntek Technology successfully passed the examinations by the experts of the Equipment Networking Center of the Ministry of Information Industry and was granted the networking licenses for the Business Control Point SCP Equipment and Peripheral IP Equipment of the GSM Intelligent Network as issued by the Ministry of Information Industry.
