Dedicated number for VoIP users

　　Recently, a telecom supervision institute of Britain announced that it would assign a batch of new telephone number for the network users. Ofcom says that it will set a new area number "056" through which the 11-digit telephone numbers as currently used by Britain can be transferred into 11-digit network telephone number. Meanwhile, the user can also gain 11-digit telephone number with the area number "01" or "02".

　　In America as well as in some European and Asian countries, the network speed has been increased greatly due to the broadband, which greatly enhanced the development of the VoIP telephone services. Moreover, the connection quality (speech quality) has been improved greatly recently.

NEC cooperates with OKI to construct call center system for RECOMM, Dalian

　　NEC and OKI cooperated to win the bid for the call center system (outbound) for RECOMM in Dalian, China. The system adopted, with 50 seats, will be put into operation from November this year. Since Dalian is abundant in Japanese-speaking customer service personnel, there will be more Japanese enterprises participating in call center services in the future. NEC and OKI will enhance their services for these enterprises.

VoIP will account for major market share in the future 3 years

　　According to the Bank of America, it will install 180,000 VoIP telephones all over America. It shows that VoIP services will occupy a big market share in the future.

　　Then bank, the 3rd largest bank in America, says that it will use telephone sets and exchange as provided by Cisco. The deal will make the Bank of America one of the major users of VoIP, ranking closely behind Ford Motor and the Boeing. Ford Motor and Boeing announced that they would use VoIP services not long ago.

Avaya Connect 2004 to be held in Beijing in October

　　Avaya, the world leading provider of enterprise-oriented telecom software, system and services announced recently that Avaya Connect 2004 would be held in the Kerry Center Hotel on Oct. 28-29. This is the first user's meeting in China held by Avaya. Theme of the meeting is "Optimizing your enterprises". It will be focused on how to improve the working efficiency and competition power by deploying advanced telecom system.
Hundreds of people will attend the meeting. They are from various fields and industries, including financial, telecom, manufacturing companies, governments and academic institutions. It will be a platform for exchange of concepts and experiences and will be a grand meeting to combine network with the contact center.
