IResearch: market share of broadband services at the beginning
of 2004
According to the research results made by iResearch on the basis of
data on CTTL.com.cn, the annual business income from broadband services
is about 50 billion USD. In the past year, the broadband value-added service
(BVAS) has grown to some extent. As we know from the data on CTTL.com.cn,
the business income from basic broadband access services for enterprises
amounts to 13 billion USD, accounting for 26% of the market share, while
the business income from BVAS for enterprises amounts to 2.3 billion USD,
accounting for 5% of the market share; the business income from broadband
access services for individuals amounts to 31 billion USD, accounting
for 62% of the market share, while the business income from BVAS for individuals
amounts to 3.3 billion USD, accounting for 7% of the market share;
Enterprise gateway may influence the development trend
of network equipment
According to In-Stat/MDR, a market research company, a
new type of multi-purpose equipment for small-sized enterprises and branches
of middle and big-sized enterprises will appear on the market in the coming
12-24 months. The equipment, defined as enterprise gateway by In-Stat/MDR,
may influence the development trend of network equipment industry. According
to In-Stat/MDR, by the year 2008 the market value of enterprise gateway
will be increased from 1.2 billion USD (in 2004) to 16.6 billion USD.
In-Stat/MDR pointed out that, the enterprise gateway was designed for
small-sized enterprises with 20-99 employees and the branches of middle
and big-sized enterprises. The single-unit network and safety products
will still be used widely in big enterprises, while the fixed-configured
and multi-purpose products will be used more and more by residents, SOHO,
and enterprise with 1-19 employees.
Providers of data and enterprise gateways will acquire or cooperate
with the best technique developers in the field of safety, data network,
wireless and voice telecom. Some providers have already started such a
cooperation or acquisition. Providers of broadband CPE who hope to get
the technique at a much favorable price may turn to software OEM.
DTT: 67% of the enterprises in the world plan to use
desktop VoIP by 2006
According to the reports released by deloitte (DTT), over
two thirds of the global enterprises will use desktop VoIP in 2006. Desktop
VoIP is the most complete VoIP system, which can reduce the cost to the
upmost and improve the working efficiency and flexibility. 26% of the
respondent has used such a desktop VoIP, of which only one third provides
such a service to all the employees. According to the report, 84% of the
invested companies said that the major reason why they use VoIP service
is to reduce the cost. Besides, such a service also makes it easier for
the enterprises to upgrade the call center, contracting-out operation
and telecom tool system. According to the results of the investigation,
79% of the first user of VoIP services still express that they are very
satisfied or generally satisfied with such a service/technique.
