Beijing Kexin Tech made break-through in the industrialization
of production of speech recognition engines
There are many technical problems to be handled in the
application of speech recognition products due to the high technical level
of the products themselves. Foreign manufacturers have monopolized the
production of such products due to the fact that domestic manufacturers
have not experienced industrialization yet. In 2004, through continuous
improvement of technical ability and cooperation with telecom system integrators
and operators, Beijing Kexin Tech made a success in applying the distribution-type
telephone speech recognition engine (with independent intellectual property
rights) in more than one telecom projects in the country, a break-through
in the industrialization of domestic manufacturers, which ended the exclusive
control by foreign companies. Beijing Kexin Tech is developing very quickly
as the provider of Chinese speech recognition software.
Projects successfully implemented are: personnel secretary system of
Beijing Mobile, enterprise and personnel secretary mobile system of Chengdu
Mobile, personnel secretary system of Chongqing Unicom, Hebei Unicom and
Jiangsu Telecom, etc.
The distribution-type speech recognition engine of Beijing Kexin Tech
is based on technical achievements made by Beijing Kexin Tech Speech Lab
of Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which owns a first-class
research team led by Gu Yong Hong, a world famous speech recognition expert.
It is a leader in the field of Chinese speech recognition, and has won
the prizes in more than one contest of speech techniques as organized
by the government since 2003.
Ebanswers's integrated call center help Inventec improve
customer service
Recently, Ebanswers (Hangzhou) signed a contract with Inventec (Nanjing).
According to the contract, Ebanswers will help Inventec construct a first-class
customer service platform by providing an integrated call center solution.
Inventec Nanjing is a branch of Inventec Group, a famous international
company in Taiwan. It is mainly engaged in the research, development,
production, sales of products including wireless cityphone, mobile telecom
terminals, digital camera, mobile telecom equipment, telephone set, recorder
and PDA, and relevant services.

MII: Foreign capital absorbing: SK Telecom and HL95 licensed
for telecom services
According to the senior management personnel from the
Comprehensive Planning Department of the Ministry of Information Industry,
China telecom industry is quickening its step in absorbing foreign investment.
By Nov. 2004, there are 18 enterprises applying to the authorities in
charge of China communications industry for absorbing foreign investment
to set up joint-venture telecom enterprises.
All these 18 enterprises applied for providing value-added telecom services.
MII has made a thorough check and examination on the applications (some
still underway, some proved to be unqualified). Among these applicants
there are 4 getting the Opinions on Setting up Joint-venture Telecom Enterprises
as issued by MII, and 2 getting the Business License for Telecom Services
as issued by MII.
The two joint-venture applicants who got the business license are Unicom
SK (joint venture by SK Telecom and China Unicom) and HL95.
