Sales Turnover of Huawei reaching 46.2 billion CNY in 2004

  In 2004, the global sales turnover of Huawei was 46.2 billion CNY, including 27.3 billion CNY of domestic sales and 2.28 billion USD of international sales, accounting for 41% of the total sum.

  In 2004, Huawei's business covered about 300 operators in over 90 countries and regions. It made progress on both domestic market and international market. Now, it ranks the 22nd in the world top 50 telecom operators. Besides cooperating with major domestic telecom operators such as China Telecom, China Mobile, China Netcom and China Unicom, it also established business relationship with world famous operators, including Britain Telecom (BT), Telefonica, SingTel, AIS Thailand, MTN Southern Africa and TELEMAR Brazil. In fact Huawei has entered the markets of 14 developed countries, including Germany, France, Britain, Spanish, Portugal, America, Canada, etc.

  Up until now, Huawei has made 6500 patent applications, among which 1400 was approved. It has been a high-tech domestic enterprise with the biggest number of patents applications in the past 3 years.

IDC: Transition of the telecom industry in 05--- growth of VoIP/WLan

  According to the report on the development trend of telecom industry in the Asia-Pacific region (except for Japan) in 2005 as released recently by IDC, the year 2005 will still be a year of transition for the telecom industry.

  In 2004, in the Asia-pacific region (except for Japan), the sales value on the wireless mobile market amounted to about 70 billion USD. IDC anticipates that in the year 2005 the value will increase at a rate of 16%. According to its anticipations, the market value of VoIP and WLA will increase at a rate of 16.4% and 16.7% respectively due to the fast growth of the Chinese and the Indian market.
