Skype adopting VoIP voice service to make iPod a broadcast system

More and more people can share their iPod digital music with each other with charge-free software and Internet telephone service Skype. Now, people begun to use another kind of personnel playing method--- podcasting. They release the digital record on the website and provide downloading services for Apple's iPod digital music player. They called this as "Skypecasters". It uses Skype's end-to-end telephone network to provide charge-free recording service to others on website.

Evidence shows that Skypecasters is becoming more and more popular these days, although it requires the user to be of rather a high technical level. According to the statistics made by SkypeJournal, it has a splitting nature. SkypeJournal is a famous network community which provides the operation instruction of Skypecast. "many Skyper begun to record the content of their conversation, and then turn it into podcasts。"

Skype is the largest company which provides VoIP services. At present, it has 29 million subscribers who can enjoy computer-to-computer (end-to-end) network-based call services. Earlier this month, the company says that the SkypeOut service it provides can draw the PC calls to traditional telephone line, ever since such service was put on the market in July of 2004, the number of the subscribers has reached one million. In the field of content, Skype and Vonage start to compete with each other. The latter has 550,000 subscribers, and is the largest VoIP provider in the world.
