ITRG:VoIP will take the place of traditional telephone service in 3 years

ITRG(Info-Tech Research Group)says recently that the VoIP will take the place of traditional telephone service in three years. At present, 23% of the mid-sized enterprise has adopted such service, and it is anticipated that the number will be increased to 50% in three years.

Results of the research made by Infornetics Research shows that in 2004 the market value of VoIP telephone service in North America has reached 1.3 billion USD. It is anticipated that by 2009, the number will reach 19.9 billion USD, with a compound annual growth rate of 72.6%. It is targeted at enterprise, government, education institutes and SOHOs. At present, large enterprises are major customers, while it is anticipated that by 2009 small and middle enterprises will be the major customers. According to In-Stat's report, from 2005 to 2009 the VoIP service will experience a rapid growth, and will reach the peak during 2010~2014.
