The number of VoIP users in China (from PC to Phone) will reach 28 million in 2008

To know more about the VoIP market in China, iResearch made a thorough research on it and released the Report on VoIP market in China in 2005 in July this year.

According to iResearch, in 2004 the number of VoIP users (PC to PC) in China has reached 19 million, and will reach 29 million in 2005. It is anticipated that in 2008 the number of VoIP users in China (from PC to Phone) will reach 28 million.

Brazil operator ViVO adopting Nortel's solution

Nortel Network announced recently that ViVO, the largest mobile operator in the southern hemisphere, adopted Nortel's NGN solutions to improve the working efficiency and reduce the operation cost of its call center.
ViVO is the first operator in Brazil that applies VoIP technique to mobile network. It chose Nortel because the latter is experienced, reliable and flexible. They hope to provide better service to the customers at a lower cost.

The five call centers of ViVO adopted CDMA2000 1X system (to upgrade), CS2000 soft switch system and MG15000 multi-media gateway.

German Telecom to expand the IP NGN with CISCO router

Cisco announced recently that T-Com, the fixed network department of German Telecom was planning to expand the CISCO IP NGN on the basis of IP/MPLS by upgrading the Cisco12000 routers. In such a way the customers of T-Com will enjoy new telecom service based on IP / MPLS.
