Avaya'S IP voice telecom system exceeds 7 million lines
Avaya, the world leading provider of enterprise telecom software, system
and service, announced recently that the IP voice telecom system it delivered
has exceeds 7 million lines. The 7 million th line was delivered to India's
ING Vysya bank, a leading private bank of India. It will use Avaya Contact
Center Express solution to provide 24×7 hotline service to its customers
all over India.
Vonage will collect 600 million USD through IPO
According to reports dated on August 26, IP telephone service provider
Vonage says that it will collect 600 million USD through IPO.
According to the report from news.com.com, Wallstreet anaysts says that
up until now Vonage has collected 400 million USD from risk investors,
including Bain, 3i and IVP.
At present, there are over 800,000 families using Vonage's service, which
makes it the largest IP telephone service provider in America. The users
can enjoy the Vonage's service at a low cost by inserting the Internet
access line into the telephone.
Sales income from VoIP equipment increased by 55% than that of the
same period of the last year, and will reach 5.7 billion USD in 2008
According to the latest report from Infonetics Research, the world VoIP
market is growing rapidly. In the second quarter of this year, the sales
sincome of VoIP equipment providers has been unprecedentedly high.
Infonetics Research reports that in the second quarter of this year the
sales income of VoIP equipment provider amounted to 614 million USD, an
increase of 18% than that of the first quarter of this year, and an increase
of 55% than that of the second quarter of last year. It is anticipated
that the sales income will reach 5.7 billiion USD by 2008.
According to Infonetics Research, the number of each variety of VoIP products
expereinced an rapid increase. Among these products type-4 Softswitch
and media server grows at rather a low rate, but type 5 softswitch grows
very rapidly, and the sales income of the whole switch network reached
247.9 million USD, an increase of 15% than that of the first quarter.
It is said that the sales income from enterprise-oriented VoIP equipment
will be increasing along with the increase of VoIP equipment for mall-office-home-office.
It is anticipated that the latter will increase from 1.1 million (2004)
to 24.3 million in 2008. From 2006 to 2008, there will be 6 million new
online users each year. The rapdest growth will be in Europe, where the
number of VoIP users will grow from 2.2 million (2004) to 27.8 million
in 2008.
