IP PBX to dominate the market in 2008

WAccording to the latest research report from Infonetics, IP has become the first choice of global enterprises when deploying PBX. Infonetics says that in the second quarter of the year more than half of the sales income of the new system on the world market came from pure IP PBX and mixed PBX. It is said that the proportion will be increased to 92% by 2008.
By 2008 the sales income of pure IP PBX and mixed PBX will reach 8.34 billion USD, while that of (TDM) PBX will be 760 million USD only.

Nokia made a great progress in fixed-mobile convergence by signing agreements with Cisco, Avaya and OnRelay. According to the agreements signed between Nokia and Cisco and Avaya, Nokia will integrate Cisco and Avaya's IP PBX into its own products. Besides, Nokia reached an agreement with OnRelay, according to which Nokia will bring many functions of IP PBX to the mobile phone so that the users can use it outside the workplace.

Infonetics says that in 2004 the sales income from PBX was 6.1 billion USD, an increase of 11% than that in 2003 (5.5 billion USD). Meanwhile, the sales income from household VoIP equipment was only 1.73 billion USD. Infonetics anticipated that by 2008 the sales income from household VoIP equipment will reach 5.8 billion USD.

Recently, Israel VCON won the bid for the construction of the videoconference system of the Health Information Network of Pudong New District. The first phase of the project includes 23 access points. VCON's products (HD2000/HD3000/HD5000 and VCB3000) will be used in it.
