EarthLink providing VoIP service

News from Boston VON conference: Level 3 announced today that EarthLink would adopt their service to provide the next generation of VoIP service. The service include E-911 service, connecting to public telephone network, and providing local telephone numbers to the subscribers of EarthLink. EarthLink says that the reliable service of Level 3 can help them provide better VoIP service at a lower cost. At present, EarthLink has 1.5 million broadband subscribers. It plans to provide "Earth Link True Voice" in two weeks. EarthLink will use soft switch device provided by Sonus to build the basic network for VoIP business.

Broadcom providing the second generation of VoIP processor

News, Sept. 19: Broadcom brought BCM1161, the second generation of mobile VoIP processor, to the market. It is specially designed for Wi-Fi telephone with advanced multi-media functions. As a new kind of multi-media applications with voice and video funcations, it has caught much attention, providing services such as video flow, video conference and data connection, which cannot be realized with the household wireless telephone used nowadays.

PacificNet constructing call center in China

CRM solution provider PacificNet Inc.(PACT) announced this Wednesday that the PacificNet Epro Department of the company would construct a call center in Guangzhou, China, that has 250 positions, to meet the increasing demand of China Mainland and Hong Kong for CRM service.

This will lead to an increase of annual income of the company by over 40%, accompanied by an increase of profit rate, due to the lower cost of labor force and office facilities in China Mainland.

The new call center will serve as a supplement to the call center in Hong Kong, which has 400 positions.
