Huawei's INTOUCH LAB became the focus of attention
At the five-day-long PT/EXPO COMM CHINA 2005 in Beijing, the providers
and manufacturers of telecom equipment, terminals and hardware, exhibited
advanced technologies and products in the brand new environment. Over
1500 representatives of the telecom operators from the world visited the
unique service experience area of Huawei, whose exhibition booth was the
most popular one at the exhibition.
Huawei has set up service experience areas at both the exhibition hall
and Shangri-la hotel, exhibiting, through remote access, solutions based
on 3G and NGN, such as intelligent office, wireless life, digital family
and so on. Besides, it publicized the program for establishing lab for
the innovation of end-to-end business and finding cooperation partners
all over the world. All these are important measures taken by Huawei for
enhancing the development of value-added services.
ScanSoft setting up new image to serve Chinese market
After acquiring L&H, Philips voice lab, SpeechWorks and many other
world famous voice products/services providers, ScansSoft merged with
Nuance and announced on Oct. 18 of 2005 that the name of the company was
changed to Nuance Communications, Inc., which means that ScanSoft has
reached the climax as the most powerful and the most innovative voice
solution provider in the world. The new company will only use the name
ScansSoft in household image application. On Nov. 21 of 2005, the company
changed its NASDAQ code "SSFT" to "NUAN".

"12355" hotline for laws and psychology-related consulting
service was opened recently. This is the first "five-digit number
hotline" of the city, providing consulting service concerning psychological
problems and laws-related problems for the adolescent.
