VoIP facing a difficult situation at the telecom exhibition
Undoubtedly, VoIP is the hottest topic in the telecom industry nowadays.
However, it encountered a difficult situation at the telecommunications
exhibition of this year. In the whole exhibition hall of Beijing International
Exhibition Center, there were only one or two exhibitors exhibiting VoIP
solutions. Compared with the popular 3G and IPTV, VoIP didn't catch much
attention of the public. With the development of VoIP in America and other
parts of the world, many companies and many customers are looking forward
to rapid development of such business. However, because there are still
a lot of problems not solved, VoIP service has not been put on market,
and this is why there are so a few exhibitors of VoIP.
According to the report from Analysys, in 2003, VoIP business was still
in a beginning stage in China, while in 2004 the market growed very rapidly
at a rate of 171%. In 2005, the market growth slowed down a little due
to the implementation of regulatory policies, and after 2008, the market
will grow steadily at a rate of 70%.
AltiGen constructing grid street service system for Xuhui district

With the rapid growth of Internet technology, grid has been more and more
popular in many fields. As the leader of the grid project of Shanghai
municipal government, Shanghai Xuhui District government took the lead
to adopt AltiGen IP distributive call center system to construct grid-based
service system to integrate the resouces of different street offices for
the purpose of centralized management.
Diva Server will provide SIP-based VoIP service
Recently, Eicon, the world famous manufacturer of enterprise-oriented
network telecom products, announced excitedly that it would provide SIP-based
gateway software to realize the communications between Microsoft Office
Communicator 2005 and traditional PBX system through real-time cooperation
(RTC) of Diva Server telephone adaptor and Microsoft Office. This SIP-based
gateway software will help the subscribers use standard PSTN (public switched
telephone newtork) to realize audio communications between PC and telephone.
The product will enter the market in 2005.
