Cisco providing integrated telecom service to small and middle-sized
enterprises
According to foreign radios, American network equipment manufacturer
Cisco announced on Monday that it would provide Linksys One, a network
system for middle and small-sized enterprises. It integrates data service,
VoIP and other telecom services on one single platform.
Linksys One will provide enterprise telecom services, such as VoIP, video
and data service, to the employees through a wireless LAN, small-sized
routers and specially-designed telephone set. The small and middle-sized
enterprises need only to pay 62USD a month for each employee (each desk)
for it.
A week ago, CEO of Cisco says that the company is now paying more and
more attention to the needs of small and middle-sized enterprise. According
to the statistics of AMI, there are about 35 million small and middle-sized
enterprises all over the world with less than 100 employees. These enterprises
will pay as much as 12 billion USD for network and telecom services in
2005, and may pay 19 billion USD in 2010.
IMS of LUCENT becoming the focus of the market
LeeDoyle, analyst of IDC, says "IMS will draw the attention of most
of the large enterprises on the market." As Dowjones says, the operators
are using different dedicated network for the fixed/wireless service and
Internet-based service.
IMS can control all these networks through one single system to make the
whole flow smooth and efficient, and lower the requirements for basic
infrastructure and capital input.
The above opinions are given on the IMS (IP multi-media sub-system) of
Lucent.
