The sales of VoIP telephone system exceeds that of tradtional one

According to the latest research report released by Merri Lynch Investment Bank on Monday, by June 2005, the sales of VoIP system exceeds that of traditional ones for the first time.

The report says that by June, the sales of VoIP system is 31% more than that of last year, while the sales of traditional telephone system decreased by 20%.

The report also says that due to the decrease of the sales of traditional telephone service and the increase of VoIP servie, the sales on the whole telecom market increased by only 2% than that of the last year (about 2.24 billion USD).

The two most active companies in the VoIP market are Cisco and Avaya.

Nokia establishing FMC lab in Philippine

Nokia and PLDT (Philippine Long-distance Telephone) announced that they would work together to set up a lab for fixed-to-mobile convergence to gather experience for future applications. Nokia provided end-to-end fixed to mobile convergence solutions for the lab, including network equipment for the core layer and the access layer, multi-media terminals and VoIP terminals. PLDT says that it had always been the leader in the field of mobile service. They think that the fixed-to-mobile convergence will improve the customer service and enhance the business development. The lab will be a platform for testing new ideas.

The world IP PBX market growing at a rate of 10%

According to the latest report by Infonetics, the total income from PBX/KTS in the third quarterof the year was 2.1 billion, an increase of 17% than that of the last year. It is forecasted that the market will continue grow as a result of economic upturn and technology transfer. The income in the 3rd quarter of 2006 will reach 2.3 billion USD, an increase of 9%.
