SCNB help Shanxi Communication extend the capacity of NGN

Recently, SIEMENS Communication Networks LTD Beijing (SCNB) signed a contract with Shanxi Communication. According to the contract, SCNB will provide IAD equipment to Shanxi Communication for the project "Village in the City" in Taiyuan. Thus, SCNB made a solid step towards commercial operation of NGN network in Shanxi Communication.

With the mature NGN solutions, SCNB was selected by Shanxi Communication as the only equipment provider and signed the contract for the trial operation of NGN. According to the contract, Shanxi Communication will use（NGN）SURPASS equipment provided by SCNB, and start the trial operation in the province. During the trial operation period, SIEMENS's NGN solution SURPASS, carried on Shanxi Communication's IP backbone network and MAN networks, was applied in 11 cities of the province. Core NGN equipment, including soft switch, open business platform, application server and comprehensive network management equipment, are deployed in Taiyuan. Media gateway and user terminal equipment are deployed in the 11 cities, including Taiyuan. The system capacity reaches 1,000,000 BHCA and can be switched16,000,000 BHCA smoothly. It can serve 50,000 users, including users of IAD-based traditional terminals, IP telephone, soft terminal and broadband data (such as UPT and Web800).
