Nortel Networks proposed to develop ATCA
Nortel Networks announced that it would develop its wireless
and wired platform into ATCA (Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture).
It will provide ATCA-based platform as required by the operators of wired
telecom service, wireless telecom service and cable TV services.
As the result, Nortel will work closely with Motorola and Intel to build
the construction module of communication server into the ATCA framework,
to improve the working performance
Asia is the major market for double-module VoIP
Result of the latest research made by Infonetics shows that VoIP market
will be doubled in this year
Infonetics says in the report that VoIP market has increased by 76% in
2005, reaching 102,500,000 USD, and the growth rate in this year will
be 158%.
Infonetics also says that about two-third of the income from VoIP service
are from mobile phones of single module 802.11, and the remaining is from
mobile phones of double modules.
British Telecom to invest 21,000,000 USD to develop platform for VoIP
service
British Telecom announced that they would invest 21,000,000 USD to develop
and improve the global platform for VoIP services.
Last year, the company invested 48,000,000 USD to provide an Internet-based
network in the Asia-pacific region, which may help the company improve
the data processing capability. It can also serve as a comprehensive platform
that integrates voice, data and video transmission.
After being put into operation, the network will cover 17 countries and
regions in the Asia-pacific region, including Australia, China, H.K. India,
Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.
