Sales value on China's software market amounting to 32,440,000,000 RMB in 2005

According to IT Products and Services-Annual Report on China's Software Market 2005-2006, The sales value of software on China's market amounted to 32,440,000,000 RMB yuan in 2005, an increase of 22.2% than that in the last year. The sales of system software has been growing stably, amounting to 10,380,000,000. Correspondingly, the sales of supporting software also grew stably, at a rate of 25.2%, and that of application software amounted to 18,730,000,000 RMB yuan, 23.9% more than that in 2004 (15,120,000,000 RMB yuan). Market demand for application software. was quite large, accounting for 57.7% of the whole market. That for system software ranks the second, accounting for 32.0%, while the demand for supporting software is relatively small, accounting for 10.3% of the whole market.
In 2005, North China, East China and South China are still the key regions for the sales of software, but the concentration declined from 68.1% in 2004 to 66.9%. The market in Mid China, Southwest China, Northeast China and Northwest China have been growing very fast. As we see, the sales in the manufacturing industry ranks the first, accounting for 16.4%, and that in the financial industry ranks the second, accounting for 15.6%, followed by the telecom industry (14.1%) , the government (12.2%), and the technological education industry (8.5%). The top five industries account for 66.8% of the total market. Sales in other fields, including energy, communications, circulation, medical care, etc, accounts for 21.2%.

BT adopting Cisco's IP NGN in the 21CN network

London, Britain: Cisco and BT Group (Britain Telecom) announced recently that they had signed a contract. According to the contract, BT will adopt Cisco's IP NGN in the 21CN network and MAN.
