International symposium on the application of call center techniques
held in Guangzhou
On the morning of March 20, the International Symposium on the Application
of Call Center Techniques was held in Asia International Hotel in Guangzhou.
This symposium was jointly organized by Customer Service committee of
Guangdong Information Industry Association, Asia Customer Service Association,
and AVAYA. Huang Guanhui, secretary general of Guangdong Information Industry
Association gave the opening remark, and several experts made speeches
in turn on the development trend of call center techniques. About 100
managerial and technical personnel from major telecom operators, financial
enterprises and insurance companies participated in this symposium.
YAHOO to launch VoIP service to challenge Skype
According to the latest news from foreign media, YAHOO is now planning
to launch VoIP service to challenge eBay, who provides Skype service.
With Internet-based telecom service become more and more popular, YAHOO,
GOOGLE and other Internet companies are busy testing such service.
Before this, Yahoo has provided PC-to-PC service by cooperating with Verizon
and AT&T.
Harbin integrating hundreds of government hotlines into a call center
According to an officer from Harbin government, as early as 2004, the
provincial standing committee and the municipal committee of Harbin has
decided to "combine the resources to improve working efficiency".
Now the implementation plan has been made.
Up until now there has been more than 10 cities integrating hotline resources
Daqing city, after two years of hard work, integrated the 72 government
hotlines into one---- "12345"(major hotline) on Jan. 14 of 2005.
It is said that Daqing has classified the 73 hotlines into three groups.
The first group includes five well-known hotline, such as"110"and
"119", which is under the supervision of the handling center,
but not networked with the center; the second group includes consulting
or complaining hotlines such as "12358"(price hotline), and
the third group---hotline for complaints "12345" for the heads
of counties.
