Telecom operators to spend 205.3 billion RMB in 2006

According to the forecasts in China Telecom Operator CAPEX Annual Report 2006 made by Analysys, China Telecom will spend a capital of 55 billion RMB in 2006(not including the expenses on 3G), an decrease of 6.8% than that in 2005. China Netcom will spend 28.6 billion RMB in 2006, an increase of 2% than that in 2005 (not including the expenses on 3G). China Mobile will spend a capital of 79.4 billion RMB in 2006(not including the expenses on 3G), an increase of 16% than that in 2005. The forecast shows that the capital spending of China Mobile is 3.9 billion RMB less than the figure 83.3 billion RMB announced by itself. Analysys thinks that the said 83.3 billion RMB should include a sum for 3G. China Unicom will spend 35.1 billion RMB in 2006, a decrease of 12.5 than that in 2005.

WCMC adopting Alcatel's IP voice telecom solution

Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA,NYSE: ALA)announced recently that World Conservation Monitoring Centre (WCMC) of United Nations Environment Programme(UNEP)deployed Alcatel's OmniPCX Office solution at the headquarter in Cambridge, Integrated Business Systems Limited(IBSL), a Britain. Business partner of Alcatel, installed this system for WCMC to improve the working efficiency in handling the calls and transmitting to IP phone.
