Witness Systems announced that Aegis Communications Group, Interim Customer Care Solutions and West TeleServices Corporation have selected and installed the company's eQuality application in their outsourced contact centers to help their clients enhance customer interactions and improve service delivery across multiple communications media.

Source One has selected the e-Force Workforce Management Suite, Interactive Software's application service provider (ASP) offering, to help forecast and schedule their 250-employee contact center in Bloomfield, New Jersey. The e-Force suite includes over twenty modules that provide such functions as short and long term forecasting, schedule optimization and schedule management, supplemental staffing, exception tracking, outbound planning, real-time adherence, vacation administration, productivity analysis, meeting scheduling and a total reporting package.

Siebel, Lexis-Nexis Form Strategic Alliance

Siebel and Nexis, a unit of Lexis-Nexis, announced a strategic alliance to integrate access to selected services with Siebel eBusiness 2000, the latest release of the flagship product, Siebel eBusiness Applications. The combined solution will allow customers implementing Siebel eBusiness Applications to access selected content from the Nexis global news, business, and industry databases. The access to Nexis information will be integrated with the presentation of data collected through customer interactions and data stored in Siebel eBusiness Applications.

Lucent's ENG Talks Tools for Small, Mid-sized Cos

Lucent Technologies' new Enterprise Networks Group, which will be spun off later this year to form a separate company, announced availability of Merlin Magix Integrated System 1.5 upgrade, Merlin Messaging 2.0 and the Lucent Web Communications Server. Available separately or as an integrated solution, these components offer small and mid-sized businesses a variety of big-business e-capabilities, including high-speed Internet access, a single mailbox for e-mail and voice mail, and Web site development software and services that can quickly transform bricks-and-mortar companies into clicks-and-mortar competitors. The Integrated System is a modular hybrid PBX system that handles up to 80 telephone lines and 200 stations. The system supports an array of feature-rich digital telephones, headsets and TransTalk wireless handsets, and can be easily networked with other Lucent communications platforms.

Nortel Launches Small-Biz Internet Telephony

Nortel Networks announced a solution set to address telephony, data and eBusiness applications. Nortel Networks Business Series will offer converged voice, data and multimedia services in a single Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled network solution that leverages the high-performance Internet and offers wide-ranging eBusiness opportunities. This complete solution delivers IP communications, integrated voice and data eBusiness applications, IP routing, web-browser management, a choice of circuit-switched telephony or IP telephony (or both) and QoS on the LAN and WAN.
