AOL为SpeechWorks投资

SpeechWorks, which has filed to go public,
has reportedly taken on AOL as a 1% investor. CNet reports that AOL will purchase
$5 million of SpeechWorks' common stock, or about 1 percent of the company. AOL
will also receive warrants to marginally increase its minority stake in the company.

Belgium's Lernout & Hauspie
said sales have soared recently in Korea and other parts of the Far East but warned
its ability to maintain that pace of growth in the region could be hampered by
economic or political developments. The speech technology company said revenue
from the Far East is rising to $151.5 million from $9.7 million in the period
discussed.

Eckerd Health Services
is offering a voice-enabled prescription refill service, using eBusiness solutions
from Nortel Networks. Eckerd, one of the largest "prescription-by-mail" services
in the United States, handled more than 10 million refills. Over 1.3 million of
these transactions use Nortel Networks' Periphonics customer interaction system
and advanced speech recognition capabilities.

provider, announced that Cumulus Information Services, a Customer Communications
Management service provider, has chosen GateLink, I-Link's open-API programming
platform for enhanced Internet Protocol communications, to create and host its
robust contact center applications. Using GateLink, Cumulus Information Services
will host contact center services by using I-Link's managed Real-Time IP platform
SoftSwitch operating system.

Fiserv Creating CRM Business Unit
Fiserv has formed a business unit,
called Fiserv Customer Contact Solutions, that will focus on enterprisewide contact
management and CRM solutions for financial services organizations. The new business
unit also will incorporate existing products, including the Fiserv Customer Service
and Call-center Solution (CSCS) Desktop, CSCS Sales Generator and NetConnect.
The new business unit will allow Fiserv to provide institutions with a universal
contact management and workflow system designed to support customer interactions
via the Web, branch or call center. This integrated solution was developed for
financial institutions that are seeking a sophisticated, integrated, enterprisewide
CRM offering.
